Through Other Eyes

Title

Through Other Eyes

Description

This project was done in an effort to reconnect with a lot of my friends that I have
made within the Latin American community here in Boston, and elsewhere. The idea
behind the project was to develop an overarching idea, if that was possible, of how
this particular community viewed Boston. Are there opinions to be skewed one way or
the other? Will their opinions of the city depend heavily on their personal experiences
within their community or will it depend on this ‘imaginary’ Boston that they carry
around with them? All-in-all, I was a little surprised at how little was said about the
food (sea-food), museums, symphonies, and historical significance of the area which
is to say that 0 of the 18 people that I interviewed mentioned any of those things. A lot
of the focus was on the weather, which is understandable, and the sports teams,
mostly the Red Sox.
