Modernizing the Study of Cities: Understanding the ‘Urban Text’ as an Urban Blog

This Omeka essay is an exploration of how the Ubran Imagination course informed my understanding of technology in the humanities. Integrating online resources that help work better with the multimedia landscape of modern art was an everpresent challenge in this class. Students were encouraged to experiment with how to present their work as an exhibit rather than an essay and while some techniques failed, many succeded. From both the failures and successes, much was gained from starting on this important mission of modernizing academia to the subject matter it studies.
